This greatly affects their academic performance and future opportunities. Period poverty is not just about menstruation\u2014it impacts every aspect of a woman\u2019s life. For women living in poverty, the choice between buying menstrual products and other essentials, like food or heating, is an everyday challenge. Many women are forced to use unsafe alternatives or skip work or school, which can have long-term consequences for their health and education.<\/p>\n

Our research has shown that girls who miss school due to a lack of menstrual products are 20% less likely to graduate. Together, we can change this.
