Our Work in Uganda
Demonstration Farm and Training Project
FENET International is developing a training program in partnership with Family Empowerment Community Enterprise, a 5-year Economic Empowerment project through Demonstration Farm and Training in Northern Uganda to train 5,000 women and youth and create 1,200+ jobs across the region over five years. By equipping individuals—especially women and youth—with practical knowledge, we aim to drive economic resilience, create employment opportunities, and improve food security in the region.
The demonstration farm will serve as a training hub for beekeeping, vegetable farming, cassava TMG 19, coffee farming, avocado planting, and fish farming. This initiative aims to equip 5,000 women and youth with practical skills, enabling them to start their own enterprises, with the available resources, to achieve financial independence, and improve their quality of life and that of their families. To be implemented in partnership with accredited training providers and professionals in the Agricultural sector.
Our Projects in Africa
Vegetable Growing
A project for vegetable growing was set up in 2024 and managed by volunteers.

Avocado Farming
We are going to partner with Gaute Fresh who are training Avocado farmers in Rural Kenya and KARLO a research institute in partnership with the European Union to secure seedling (Hass and Fuerte variety) which takes only three years to start fruiting. Training in avocado farming is being developed in partnership with Gaute Fresh. Hass avocado matures and yields faster than other avocado varieties grown in Uganda. The first harvest comes after two and half to three years. One Hass avocado tree can produce 100-300 fruits after three years.

Coffee Farming
We are going to partner with ROCO PACO and other local community-based organisation to provide training and seedlings. After planting, coffee trees mature in three to four years, when they produce their first crop. The arabica plant can continue to produce fruits for about 50 years.

Beekeeping
A pilot small demonstration apiary was set in with 10 hives in partnership with REMGA to serve as a part of the demonstration apiary for women and youth. Further training manual in modern beekeeping will be developed to train women and youth.
